Oil and Gas Pipeline Corrosion Protection
Canusa-CPS supplies a wide variety of products for use as corrosion protection on oil and gas pipelines, both onshore and offshore. Products and systems are available for applications that range from ambient to extremely high temperatures, small to very large diameters and compatible with common pipeline coatings.
Polypropylene Pipeline Coatings
A very specific application is on polypropylene coated pipelines. This type of coating is used due to its excellent mechanical performance and/or high temperature resistance. Field installable joint protection systems have been a challenge in the past with few options available. As a result, Canusa-CPS developed a unique polypropylene heat-shrinkable sleeve system that is now in widespread use on major pipeline projects worldwide.
Offshore Pipeline Corrosion Protection
Offshore pipelines offer unique challenges for girth-weld corrosion protection as compared to typical buried onshore pipelines. Canusa-CPS developed a series of products that can be installed in a minimum amount of time to maximize production rates, adhere to various mainline coating types, withstand the forces exerted by the stingers and rollers during laying, and function at various operating temperatures under constant hydrostatic pressure.
Pre-Insulated Pipe Systems
Pre-Insulated pipelines are used to transport both high and low temperature mediums where maintaining pipeline temperature is important. Applications range from low temperature LNG pipelines to high temperature bitumen pipelines. The pipelines consist of an inner carrier pipe covered in an insulating material and jacketed externally for protection and integrity. Canusa-CPS provides a range of products for these often complex joint systems
Water Pipelines
Water pipelines can range from small diameter distribution lines to very large diameter transmission lines. Canusa-CPS has developed the Aqua-Shield™ and WrapidSeal™ product lines specifically to function on water and wastewater pipelines. High performance products, such as the multi-layer GTS heat-shrinkable sleeve products and HBE liquid epoxy products, can be also used for specified higher performance requirements.
